Graduate Student Assembly
Student government is an important way to become involved in decisions about campus life, programs, and policies that impact students. The Graduate Student Assembly (GSA) is the student government of the Union Graduate College. The GSA provides a forum for voicing student needs and concerns and a vehicle for conveying recommendations to the College administration.
Members of the Graduate Student Assembly are elected by students and serve to govern all non-academic affairs and to increase the sense of community among the student body. The GSA seeks to create and maintain an open relationship with the students and with the administration of the Graduate College. We will also strive to actively involve the college's diverse graduate student body in the assembly's decision-making process.
Our goals include:
- To ensure that the student body has a voice in college governance, where appropriate
- To enrich the new-student orientation program
- To provide a medium to express student opinion
- To serve an advocacy role for student concerns, grievances, and issues
- To foster a sense of community among Union Graduate College students, faculty, and administration
The Union Graduate College and Graduate Student Assembly Charter can be found in the Student Handbook.
