Union Graduate College Names Lawrence P.
Carr, Ph.D. ’89 to Board of Trustees
Lawrence
P. Carr, Ph.D. ’89 has been named to the Union Graduate College Board of
Trustees. Carr received his M.A., M.B.A. and Ph.D. from Union Graduate College’s
School of Management.
After
nearly two decades in industry, Dr. Carr is currently a professor of Management
Accounting at Babson College in Massachusetts. He also serves as a management
consultant, working with General Electric, Pitney-Bowes Xerox and other major
corporations.
Prior
to joining the Babson faculty, Dr. Carr was Vice-President and Division
Controller for Kollmorgen Corporation, a publicly held electronics company. He
also served as President and CEO of OSRAM Corporation (part of Siemens),
leading the lighting company to an average annual growth of 31% during his
eight year tenure.
Dr.
Carr is one of six School of Management alumni who joined together in making a
major gift to the new Graduate Center that recognizes their beloved professor
Don Arnold with a classroom named in his honor.
